Sometimes living sustainably can require a little extra oomph, so at S*Park we’ve made it easy for you to minimize your carbon footprint. The S*Park community utilizes solar power, composting, trash valet services and underground parking with electric charging stations not to mention plenty of greenspace. 

Why you ask? Here’s a little backstory. 

The S*Park site (formerly Sustainability Park) was and is an incubator for sustainable living and community development.  In honor of the site history and mother earth, it’s designed to foster eco-friendly living which in turn feeds positive social and cultural interactions.

Each aspect of S*Park was designed with intent, meaning those grasses and trees in the private park are hypoallergenic, increase oxygen, and provide a sound barrier for your BBQ. Wonder why the balconies are metal lattice? That’s so your patio garden has somewhere to climb and you have the added benefit of extra privacy. Even the color of the buildings was selected to reflect the sunlight onto the private park so it can flourish and glow green in return.

Beyond the details and onto the big picture, S*Park also includes a solar community garden from Microgrid Energy so tenants save green while literally saving green. There’s also the Urban Farm and Greenhouse managed by Altius farms where educational programs and community engagement thrive (and the veggies of course). The gist is, S*Park gives back creating a synergy between the built and natural world, neighbor to neighbor, and private community to urban fabric.

Altius Farms will grow greens and herbs in our 7,200 sq ft vertical farm above Uchi, James beard award winning restaurant from Austin, TX (Summer opening). We’ll also grow tomatoes, strawberries, squashes, root veggies, and more in our raised beds outside (launch June, 2018). As part of the S*Park sustainable living community, we are growing greens, herbs and produce for restaurants and residents.

She’s not your typical farmer. She’s a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of CEO. While her hands are gettin’ dirty, her mind’s in the sky on her aeroponic growing towers to be exact. She and her team dig (had to) progressive farm space, sustainable food production and bringing nuanced ingredients to life for restaurants and community residents.

As the CEO of Altius Farms Greenhouse and steward of the Urban Farm at S*Park, she’s the queen of locally grown produce hooking markets, chefs and residents up with the freshest produce and most unique flavors around…like Wasabi Arugula! Sally’s squad consists of 50% veteran workforce and a skilled team passionate for sustainable urban farming.

S*Park tenants can subscribe to a freshly picked produce basket as part of an exclusive veggie to door program for residents. Hang up your blue apron and say goodbye to other fresh produce delivery systems. This brings a whole new meaning to farm-to-fork. You’ll have first access to tastings, agricultural classes and collab pop up’s with Uchi sushi and other local restaurateurs.
